Become a member or supporter of SCGA

Two years ago on February 14th we held the first Sierra County Growers Assn meeting! In that time we have submitted 2 successful referendums and defeated the over-reaching Measure B in 2017! We have had great success building public recognition and respect for local cultivators to the degree that our director, Sarah Grew, has finally been offered a seat at the table. She is a member of the County’s cannabis ad-hoc committee along with Scott Schlefstein and Lee Adams (BOS), Tim Beals & Brandon Pangman (Building & Planning), County Counsel and Health & Human Services. This committee is to develop recommendations for an ordinance authorizing commercial cannabis activities when (not if) Measure A fails at the ballot this June.

Volunteers and Financial Contributions are needed - please reach out with whatever help, big or small, you can offer.
Donation Checks may be mailed to POBOX 876 North San Juan 95960 and made out to Sierra County Growers Assn.

Walking the path to compliance and making the transition into a regulated legal market is likely the hardest journey that any cannabis business will have to undertake. From creating business entities and business plans to understanding local and state regulations, the road to licensure for farmers and product makers is a long and arduous one.

While advocacy is the cornerstone of our mission, the Sierra County Growers Association strives to provide educational resources that help you navigate these uncertain waters more informed and with greater ease.

We are primarily a trade association for the benefit of our members who plan on participating in the cannabis industry in Sierra County. By pooling our resources and working together along with industry and community leaders and elected officials, we can reach the level of political buy-in needed to save local farms. By becoming a member you ensure that we will become one of the strongest advocacy organizations in Sierra County and that your voice is heard as we build consensus in our community. We give you representation in Sierra County on Cannabis Policy, advocating for an ordinance that protects your business, patients rights and way of life.
Additional Benefits include:

  • Representation in Sacramento on Cannabis Policy, protecting the cottage & specialty farmer
